News from NUCSER | Lumora 2025: NUCSER’s Goonj Brings the Potterverse to Life

NUCSER’s annual cultural festival Goonj took a magical leap this year as Lumora 2025 and transformed the campus into a full-blown Harry Potter universe. Students stepped into three days of enchantment packed with creativity, competition and pure energy. The fest opened on 10th November 2025 with an inauguration graced by Walter Nandalike, Founder & Editor-in-Chief of Daijiworld.com, along with Ms. Shwetha, Principal, Nitte Institute of Speech & Hearing. Both guests immersed themselves in the Harry Potter theme with the enthusiasm of first-years seeing Hogwarts for the very first time.

Day 1 and Day 2 unfolded with a packed line-up of events- dance, design, debate, cooking, creative ads, murder mysteries and more each infused with the magic and mischief the theme promised. The energy stayed sky-high as students competed house-wise, cheered each other on and practically lived in their wizard robes.

Day 3, the Traditional Day, brought a vibrant shift from wizarding robes to cultural grandeur. Performances celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava and Navratri, followed by the much-anticipated Mr. and Ms. Traditional contest featuring ramp, talent and Q&A rounds. The spotlight then turned to the college band, who unveiled their official name, “The Circadian Rhythms”. Faculty members joined the fun with everything from arm-wrestling to a surprise ramp walk that instantly became the highlight reel of the day.

The fest closed with a spirited Baila, where students danced without restraint and wrapped up Lumora on a perfect note of joy, color, community and just the right amount of chaos.
