The 3-day Multiconference ‘ICETE 2026’, a flagship event hosted by NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte was inaugurated on 5th February 2026 by the Chief Guest, Dr. Sunil Kumar Singh, Director, CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Goa. The conference brought together eminent academicians, researchers and professionals from around the world to discuss advancements in various domains under the umbrella of NITTE-BIO 2026, CTCS 2026, AIDE 2026, AREEV 2026, VSPICE 2026, SME 2026 and MSMAT 2026.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Singh emphasized the opportunities that Indian researchers need to grab in the field of research. He stated that the country’s research sector should not be confined to just learning but should move towards knowledge creation. He called for the effective utilization of various schemes of the Central Government, including the Prime Minister's Research Fellowship, which is aimed at promoting research and innovation.
Guests of Honour included prominent figures: Prof. Yasuhiro Shiomi, Vice Dean/ Professor College of Science & Engineering, Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto, Japan; Dr. In Ho Ra, Professor, School of Computer & Software, Kunsan National University, South Korea; Dr. Hesham Nabiel, Professor, Dept. of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, Al-Azhar University, Nasr City, Cairo, Egypt and Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim, Associate Professor Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Each shared valuable insights, stressing the importance of interdisciplinary research in addressing global challenges.
Dr. Gopal Mugeraya, Vice President (Technical Education), Nitte University, who presided over the event, lauded the efforts of the Organizing Committee and reiterated the institution's commitment to nurturing research and development.
The Conference Proceedings book was released on the occasion.
Dr. Niranjan N Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT welcomed the gathering. Chief Convenor of the Conference & Dean (R&D), Dr. Sudesh Bekal gave a comprehensive presentation regarding the conference. Conference Secretary & Professor in Electronics & Communication Engineering Dr. Prabha Niranjan delivered the vote of thanks. Dr. Anusha R Sharath, Asst. Professor, Dept of E&C and Ms. Shweta Bharath, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Humanities were the masters of ceremony. During the 3-day conference, 14 experts from various disciplines of technology delivered keynote addresses. 1380 quality research papers were received from national and international researchers, out of which 552 papers were shortlisted for presentation after expert review and 289 papers were presented during this multiconference.
