The Department of Biochemistry, K S Hegde Medical Academy organized a CME on "OMICS in cardiovascular disease: From molecular insight to precision cardiology" in hybrid mode and a Postgraduate Inter-collegiate Lecture Competition, “Bionexus (Bench to Bedside)” on 20th February 2026 at the college premises.
Prof. (Dr) T S Keshava Prasad, Director, Centre for Omics & Systems Medicine, Dept. of Biochemistry, KSHEMA; Dr. Maneesh Rai, Assoc. Professor, Dept. of Cardiology, KMC, Mangalore; Mr. Gaurab Banerjee, CEO & Co-founder, MolSys Pvt Ltd; Dr. Rohan Shah Technical Support Manager, Thermofisher Scientific and Dr. Akhila H S, Asst. Professor Grade II, Centre for Omics & Systems Medicine were the resource persons for the CME.
102 delegates attended the CME in person and 9 delegates attended virtually, from different medical colleges of Karnataka, Telangana and Kerala.
“Bionexus (Bench to Bedside)” saw the participation of 11 postgraduates from medical colleges across Dakshina Kannada. The event was judged by Dr. Siddharth M Shetty, Professor, Orthopedics, KSHEMA and Prof. (Dr) Maitreyee D S, HoD, Biochemistry, Fr. Muller Medical College.
