The Institutional Placement & Career Guidance Cell along with the Interns Academic Club, AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, conducted a program on “Why Strategy Matters: Structured Roadmap to MDS Rank” for the interns on 21st February 2026 at Manana Classroom, ABSMIDS.
The resource person, Prof. (Dr) Raison Thomas, Director, CEDEES (Centre for Excellence in Dental Entrance Exams) briefed the interns about the various competitive examinations available for dental graduates and discussed the challenges commonly faced by students, emphasizing how academic pressure and clinical responsibilities can make preparation for competitive exams demanding.
He stressed the importance of having a clear strategic plan to effectively schedule and manage the study process, emphasizing that systematic preparation and disciplined time management are key factors for success in competitive examinations.
He also highlighted the significance of utilizing the internship period wisely, as it provides ample time for early preparation for MDS entrance examinations. He encouraged students to remain goal-oriented, focused and consistent in their efforts to achieve success in competitive exams. Around 89 interns participated in the program.
