News from KSHEMA | Lumbar Logic Workshop

The Spinal Anaesthesia Workshop, organised by Incīsiō, the Undergraduate General Surgery Club of KSHEMA, was held on 25th February 2026 at the Academic Block, K S Hegde Charitable Hospital. Conducted by Dr. T. Prabhahar from the Royal College of Surgeons, the session aimed to provide undergraduate medical students with hands-on exposure while reinforcing theoretical knowledge of spinal anaesthesia, including its administration, anatomical landmarks, instruments and clinical significance.

The workshop began with an overview of the procedure, followed by detailed explanations of patient positioning, needle gauge and potential complications. A live demonstration on a simulation model was conducted, after which all 15 participants performed the procedure under supervision. Student participation was active and enthusiastic, with feedback highlighting improved understanding of lumbar puncture techniques and increased procedural confidence.
