News from KSHEMA | KNOT-IFICATION 3.O

The Knot Tying Workshop: Its Techniques and Types, organised by Incīsiō, the Undergraduate General Surgery Club of KSHEMA, was held on 14th March 2026 at the Surgery Seminar Hall, 4th Floor, Academic Block, Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital.

The workshop aimed to demonstrate various types of surgical knots, their applications and provide hands-on training. Participants were introduced to key knot-tying techniques and divided into small groups, each guided by volunteers and committee members to ensure personalised learning. Students practiced multiple knots including square, surgeon’s, reef, Roeder’s and one-hand knots using individual practice boards, with continuous supervision and guidance. The interactive session allowed participants to develop precision and confidence, culminating in a fun knot-tying competition. 20 second-year MBBS students participated in the workshop.
