News from KSHEMA | Guest Lecture on Medical Negligence and Veritas Forensis Quiz

The Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, K S Hegde Medical Academy organized a guest lecture on “Medical Negligence” and Veritas Forensis Quiz Competition on 12th May 2026 at KSHEMA, in observance of National Forensic Medicine Day. A total of 237 third-year MBBS students participated in the program and related academic activities.

Prof. (Dr) Suraj S. Shetty, HoD, Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of forensic medicine in medical practice. The guest lecture was delivered by Dr. Jayaprakash K, Professor of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, who provided valuable insights into medico-legal responsibilities, professional liability and medical negligence in clinical practice.

The preliminary round of the Veritas Forensis Quiz Competition conducted on 8th May 2026, had 237 participants. The top-performing teams qualified for the final round held during the event on 12th May 2026. Winners were awarded cash prizes, and certificates were distributed to all participants.
