On 12th February 2026, on the occasion of National Girl Child Day, a seminar on Menstrual Health & Hygiene was organized by NGSMIPS in collaboration with O’hygia at the University Auditorium, Paneer Campus.
The event, themed "Awareness on Menstrual Cups" focused on educating participants about menstrual health and promoting sustainable alternatives to conventional products. The primary goal of the initiative was to integrate the SDG Cell initiative with practical health education. Key objectives included - Promoting menstrual sustainability and its significance, analyzing the health, environmental and economic impacts of traditional sanitary products, de-stigmatizing menstrual health and advocating for the use of menstrual cups.
The technical core of the program was divided into specialized segments led by subject matter experts: Dr. Navya Bhat, a practicing Gynaecologist conducted an in-depth session on "Understanding Menstrual Health". Mr. Anil Kumar, CEO, Lozet Pharma presented on the multi-dimensional impact (Health, Environmental and Economical) of conventional sanitary products and the long-term benefits of switching to menstrual cups, followed by educational phase which included a deep dive into understanding menstrual health and sustainability and practical demonstration by Ms Aiswarya S, Director, O’hygia.
A technical session was held which focused on the menstrual cup usage, maintenance, safety and hygiene and comfort guidelines for menstrual cups. Interactive phase included a dedicated Q&A session for participants to share perceptions and address personal concerns. Around 175 participants attended this program.
