The Department of Pharmaceutics, NGSMIPS hosted a one-day National Conference on Smart Biomaterials and Next-Generation Drug Delivery Platforms on 20th February 2026.
Dr. Indrani Karunasagar, Director (Projects) & Coordinator, NUTEC inaugurated the event. Dr. Marina Koland, Principal delivered the welcome address. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Jobin Jose, Organizing Secretary of the conference.
The conference hosted distinguished resource persons, including Prof. Venkata Vamsi Krishna Venuganti, Dean, BITS Pilani, Hyderabad; Dr. Saurabh Srivastava, Head, Dept. of Pharmaceutics, NIPER, Hyderabad and Dr. Rahul Shukla, Asst.Professor, Dept. of Pharmaceutics, NIPER, Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh. The scientific program also featured an engaging and informative session by Dr. Sandip Suryabhan Jagtap, Business Manager, Labindia Analytical Instruments, who shared his expertise on dissolution apparatus and their applications in pharmaceutical research and quality evaluation.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by Dr. Rahul Shukla and Dr. Praveen Kumar Shetty, Director (R&D), Nitte University, who acknowledged the contributions of the participants and highlighted the significance of continued research and innovation in the pharmaceutical sciences.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 33 institutions, attracting 353 registrations and featuring 120 oral and poster presentations. The conference fostered meaningful academic interaction, knowledge exchange and collaborative engagement among researchers, academicians and students.
