Prof. (Dr.) Indrani Karunasagar's visit to UNESCO, Paris

Prof. (Dr.) Indrani Karunasagar, Director (R&D), Nitte University and Dean, Faculty of Biological Sciences, was in UNESCO Paris from 20th – 24th September, 2015 to adjudicate the prestigious International Life Science Prize. She has been invited to attend the award ceremony on November 14th, 2015. Prof. Indrani Karunasagar, who is also the Director of UNESCO Centre for Medical and Marine Biotechnology, Nitte University is nominated by the Director General of UNESCO as a jury member to the UNESCO–International Prize for Research in the Life Sciences for a period of 6 years. The purpose of this Prize is to reward the projects and activities of individuals and groups for scientific research in the life sciences and carries a cash award of $300000. The Jury consists of five members of different nationalities and Dr. Indrani Karunasagar is nominated from the Asia - Pacific region.
