College Annual Day Celebration 2019 - NGSMIPS

The College Annual Day celebrations of Nitte Gulabi Shetty Memorial Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences was held on 15th March 2019 at the K.S.Hegde auditorium amidst lot of fanfare and excitement. The day began with a prayer invoking blessings from the almighty. The Vice Principal, Dr. Narayana Charyulu delivered the welcome address and Dr. Ishwar Bhat, HoD Pharmaceutical Chemistry introduced the Chief guest “Vidyaratna” Prof. Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli,a renowned orator, writer, poet, critic, T.V Anchor, an outstanding Yakshgana exponent and a sparkling artist.

Dr.M.S. Moodithaya, Pro Vice Chancellor NitteDU was the Guest of honour. He congratulated the students for their splendid performance in both curricular and extracurricular activities and complimented the college as a “Shining jewel” among the Nitte group of institutions. Presenting the College Annual Report, the Principal Dr. C.S. Shastry provided a comprehensive picture of the academic achievements, ongoing funded projects, research impetus and the concerted effort of the college towards Institute-Industry collaboration for placement of students with pharmaceutical companies.

Addressing the students, the chief guest, Prof. Bhaskar Rai complimented the students for their brilliant academic and extracurricular achievements. On this occasion, Ms. Angel Rose was awarded ‘Shri. Harsha Memorial Gold Medal’ for the best outgoing M.Pharm student, Ms. Deeksha S was awarded ‘Smt. G Venkatanarasamma Memorial Gold Medal’ for the best outgoing B.Pharm student and Ms. Gayathri Baburaj was awarded the best outgoing Pharm.D student. Prof. Rai also advised the students that besides gaining technical expertise, the most important qualities to be acquired are discipline, perseverance, intense passion to serve the society and thereby pay back in whatever little measure one could.

Prizes were distributed to students recognizing their achievements in academic, sports and cultural and artistic fields. This was followed by a refreshments break and a spectacular entertainment program thereafter. Ms. Sneh Priya, Asst. Prof, Dept. of Pharmaceutics and co-ordinator Cultural Activities Committee managed the proceedings. Mr. Vinay Prabhu, President of the student’s council shared his experience and Ms. Dhanushree delivered the vote of thanks.
