The Indian Academy of Pediatrics in association with the Department of Pediatrics, hosted the 2019 edition of Mangalore Pedicon and Dr M R Shenoy Oration. This state level conference was held on 2nd & 3rd March 2019 at the KS Hegde Auditorium, Deralakatte.
The Conference was inaugurated on 3rd March 2019 by the National IAP President, Dr Digant Shastri. Dr Santosh Soans, Past National IAP President; Dr Shantharam Shetty, Pro Chancellor, Nitte (Deemed to be university); Dr Kallapanavar; State IAP President; Dr Jaya Prakash Shetty, Vice Dean, KSHEMA were present. Dr Kishan Alva, President, IAP DK Branch delivered the welcome address. The inauguration was followed by the felicitation, by Dr Shantaram Shetty, of Dr Vijaya Shenoy, HoD, Department of Pediatrics for completing 30 years in this field. The inaugural ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Dhrithiman Shetty, Secretary IAP DK Branch.
The theme of the Conference “MANGALORE SPECIAL” comprised mainly of super specialty topics that were useful for budding post graduates, practicing pediatricians and specialists. Speakers of national and international repute from all over the country, participated. The Scientific Committee also hosted E-posters and presented papers and the best among them were awarded.
The conference received a good response from delegates acoss the state and was also streamed live on YouTube.
