Opening of the Children’s Intensive Care Complex - KSHEMA

The Department of Pediatrics, Justice K.S. Hegde Charitable Hospital, Deralakatte is happy to announce the opening of the Children’s Intensive Care Complex on 24th March 2019 by Dr B N Gangadhar, Director, NIMHANS and Member, Board of Governors.  Spread over 5000 square feet, the Complex includes a state-of-the-art 13-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and 10-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Both the units will be served by Intensivists qualified in neonatal and pediatric intensive care, ably assisted 24x7 by a team of specialists, residents and nursing personnel. The unit is supported by multi-disciplinary super specialty services. Keeping with the values of the institution and its commitment to social responsibility, the services have been made available at affordable costs.

• 24x7 emergency services for all sick newborns and sick children including burns and trauma.
• Non-invasive ventilation through bubble CPAP, High Flow Nasal Canula and BiPAP
• Level IIIb neonatal care with advanced ventilation including High Frequency Oscillation.
• Non-invasive and invasive hemodynamic monitoring with latest generation multi para monitors, bedside ultrasonogram and echocardiogram.
• Skilled procedures like central line, umbilical catheterization and chest tube insertion.
• High level incubators for preterm care.
• Peritoneal, hemodialysis and plasmapheresis facilities.
• Isolation facility with HEPA filter and dedicated nursing for children with immunosuppression.

The Complex is provided with HEPA filters and hospital-grade vinyl flooring for better infection control.
