Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences and Nitte Gulabi Shetty Memorial Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences jointly organized an Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament on 3rd & 4th March 2020 at Paneer Campus.
Dr. C S Shastry, Principal, NGSMIPS, was the Chief Guest. Inaugurating the new Basket Ball Court and tournament, Dr. Shastry emphasized the importance of sports and exercise in maintaining good health and staying fit. Prof (Dr) Sabitha Nayak, Vice Principal, NUINS, Dr. Anirban Chakraborty, Deputy Director NUCSER, Mr. Raviraj Kini, Head NICO, Prof (Dr.) Narayana Chayulu, Vice Principal, NGSMIPS were present on the occasion. Dr. Muralikrishna V, Sports Advisor, Nitte DU proposed the Vote of thanks.
Students from constituent colleges participated in the tournament. The first place in both men’s and women's section was bagged by KSHEMA. The second place in men's section was bagged by NIPT and the second place in women's section by NUCSER. The individual prize for the Best player of the Tournament for men’s and women’s section was bagged by Mr. Siddanth and Ms. Vaidehi respectively, from KSHEMA. The winners were felicitated with Trophies, Medals and Certificates.
Physical Directors and Sports Advisors: Mr. Rajaram Shetty NGSMIPS, Dr. Karunakar Shetty KSHEMA, Mrs. Shilpashree ABSMIDS, Ms. Bhagya NUINS, and Dr. Madhu Mani NUCSER distributed the prizes to the winners.
