National Safety Week - Valedictory Function

The valedictory function to conclude the National Safety Week Celebration at Nitte DU, was held on 10th March 2020 at Chinthana Hall, Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital. Capt. Ganesh Karnik, Ex MLC, Karnataka Legislative Council, was the Chief Guest and Prof. (Dr) M.S. Moodithaya, Pro Vice Chancellor, Nitte DU was the Guest of Honour. The function was attended by the students & staff.

Mr. Prashanth Kamath, Fire & Safety Officer, Nitte DU welcomed the guests and gave the overview of the celebrations during the week. His speech was followed by an Awareness Video on COVID-19 and few safety videos created by Govt. of India.

In his speech, Capt. Ganesh Karnik, stressed on following safety measures in everyday life and adhering to rules and guidelines in order to be safe. He further appealed to students to follow the safety measures stringently.

Prof (Dr) Moodithaya advised the gathering to follow correct procedures and ensure that safety measures are practiced in all walks of life. He also mentioned about the precautions to be taken while using technology. He congratulated the Staff Development Centre & the Dept. of Fire & Safety for successfully celebrating the National Safety Week at Nitte DU.

The winners of the Slogan, Poster & Collage competitions held at all constituent institutes of Nitte DU, in the category of Student & Staff were announced and the winners received the Memento and Certificate from the Chief Guest & Guest of Honour.

The function concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Ms Supriya.
