A 1.5-day Faculty Development Program on “Effective emotional intelligence for everyday interaction with students” was organized by NUCSER in association with the Staff Development Centre of Nitte University for the teaching staff of the institute. Next a series of activities (Big John, Personal Qualities, Table of 7, Tamed Mind, Table of 3 etc) and discussions on effective communication strategies with students followed. The day ended with group activity of case studies that presented different possible scenarios of conflict and perspectives.

The activities on Day 2 included a recap of the activities of the first day, followed by additional perspective building activities in groups, like Pig & Bitch, T-making, Boiling frog, Best Teacher poster etc. The program concluded with discussions on SMART approach to student interaction.

The participants enjoyed the activities thoroughly and were actively involved in the discussions. The sessions were highly appreciated by the faculty members.
