News from NUCSER | A two-day “FOSTAC-Food Safety Supervisor” training program

Nitte University Centre for Science Education & Research (NUCSER) organized a two-day “FOSTAC-Food Safety Supervisor” training program for first and final year MSc Food Safety & Biotechnology students on 24th & 25th June 2022. Mrs. Chempavai, Auditor & Trainer, Greentick Foodtech, Pvt. Ltd. was the resource person for the two-day program. The sessions included a brief introduction to food safety and its implication on human health. 




Day 1 activities included safety requirements in manufacturing practices along with activities for HACCP. Day 2 included sessions related to food safety regulations and requirements in the catering business. A total of 41 participants of which, 29 students from NUCSER and 11 students from Mangalore University attended the training program. The two-day training program was designed to equip students with knowledge and skills to become better food science professionals.
