A guest lecture on the theme "DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality" was organized on 8th March 2023 at the NUINS Learning Centre on the occasion of the International Women's Day 2023. Dr. Veena Shetty, Professor, Dept. of Microbiology, KS Hegde Medical Academy was the guest speaker. Dr. Nalini M, In-charge Women's Cell, NUINS welcomed the guest speaker and the gathering.
Dr. Veena Shetty emphasized the significance of digital platforms and the proliferation of digital technology, which is providing many avenues to women in setting up their own e-commerce and unique businesses paving way to financial independence, which is instrumental to their empowerment. She also briefly explained about various software applications (apps) like ‘My Safetipin’, ‘TaxSHE’, ‘Kudumbhashree’, etc. and their use in daily life.
Ms. Latha S, Head, Dept. of Medical-Surgical Nursing, proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Ashly George, III BSc Nursing compered the program. A total of 11 students, 9 faculty members and 14 non-teaching staff attended the program.
