On the occasion of the World No Tobacco Day, the Department of Public Health organized an awareness session on May 31, 2024 at St Ann’s Pre-University College, Mangalore. Around 200 students participated in the program.
Principal, Sr. Rajana; Vice Principal, Mr. Anil Noronha; Joint Secretary, Sr. Smitha and other teaching faculty were present. Mr. Anil Noronha welcomed the gathering.
Dr. Mackwin Dmello, Coordinator, Dept. of Public Health, KS Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA) delivered the introductory address. The resource persons for the event, Dr. Reni and Mr. Prajwal Jupiter Lobo from the Dept. of Public Health, KSHEMA, covered various aspects of tobacco use, its harmful effects and the tactics employed by the tobacco industry to target young individuals especially adolescents.
