Nitte Institute of Hospitality Services successfully conducted an Orientation Program 2024 from 5th to 8th August 2024, to welcome freshers with a series of insightful sessions & activities. The program was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr) MS Moodithaya, Vice-Chancellor, Nitte University.
Activities included informative presentation on the institution's rules & regulations, session on basic etiquette, hands-on workshop on flower arrangement, a motivational speech by the General Manager of Hotel Vivanta Mangalore on the vast opportunities and dynamic life within the hospitality industry etc. Ms. Shravya Shetty and Mr. Adish D’Souza, alumni shared their experiences and insights with the students.
A special webinar with world-renowned Chef Dr. Parvinder Singh Bali, who provided valuable advice on building a successful career in the culinary world, emphasizing the importance of always striving for excellence was organized on 7th August. Ms. Dhanya, Asst. Professor conducted a session on the significance of food presentation in the culinary industry, followed by activities that engaged the students in team-building.
The orientation program concluded with an enriching industrial visit to Hotel Vivanta, Mangalore giving students a firsthand look at the operations of a prestigious hospitality establishment.
