In accordance with the directives of the Dental Council of India (DCI), AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences organized an orientation program on Anti-Ragging themed Ragging-Free College: A Step Towards Academic Excellence on 7th October 2025 in Avishkar Auditorium, to sensitize students to the severe consequences of ragging and to foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive academic environment.
The session was conducted by Prof. (Dr) Nidarsh D Hegde, Principal, Govt. Dental College, JNIDS, Imphal; Member of DCI & Member of the Anti-Ragging Committee, DCI. He emphasized the responsibility of students in creating a ragging-free and academically enriching campus culture. His valuable insights on anti-ragging measures, legal implications and the psychological impact of ragging enlightened the participants.
The orientation was attended by all I, II, III year BDS and I year MDS students.
