The Tracheostomy Workshop, organised by Incīsiō, the Undergraduate General Surgery Club of KSHEMA, was held on 23rd February 2026 at the Surgery Seminar Hall, Academic Block, Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital. The session conducted by Dr. Neil Molony from the Royal College of Surgeons, with assistance from Dr. Prabhakar Dharmeswaran, aimed to provide undergraduates with hands-on exposure to tracheostomy while reinforcing theoretical knowledge, including indications, contraindications, complications and key anatomical landmarks. The session began with a detailed overview of airway anatomy and surgical principles, followed by a step-by-step demonstration of the tracheostomy procedure on a simulation mannequin. Fifteen students actively participated and performed the procedure under supervision, gaining practical experience in a structured and interactive environment. The workshop encouraged active discussion, continuous feedback and skill development, with participants reporting improved understanding and increased confidence in airway management.
