News from NMAMIT | Student project secures 2nd Place in FPSI Award

A team of final year B.E students of NMAMIT won the second prize at the recently concluded Fluid Power Challenge 2022 named as M.S. Yoganarasimha Prize for Innovation in Design 2022.

The team consisting of Ashith Prajwal, Agasthya Gangadhar, Bharat V Naik and Anantha Narayana M carried out a project on 'Manual Thermoformer Machine'. The machine prototype forms 30 components per hour such as vacuum wrapping of consumer goods for tamper-proof packaging for transportation & distribution to the outlets. The aim is to make the machine affordable through a start-up for the use of small vendors to make them Aatmanirbhar.

The project was guided by Prof. (Dr.) Shashikantha Karinka, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, NMAMIT. The same project was awarded the Best Project in the Mechanical Engineering category in the Project EXPRO 2022 held at NMAMIT in May 2022.

The Team received a cash award of Rs.5,000/- and the Winner's Certificate. The prizes were awarded at the Fluid Power Professionals Day (FPPD) celebrations in the 3rd week of June at the Capitol Hotel, Bengaluru.
